You can sit down for a coffee at Praca do Comercio and take in the river breeze. Keep the late afternoon completely free to rest up and adjust to local time.

Day 2

Spend your morning walking the winding alleys of Alfama and checking out the viewpoints at Miradouro de Santa Luzia. Wander downhill toward the waterfront, stopping for a warm pastel de nata along the way. Head over to the historic Chiado district for a relaxed lunch in a quiet square. The late afternoon is left open for wandering wherever your curiosity leads.

Day 3

Head out toward Sintra to explore the colorful terraces and whimsical gardens of Pena Palace. You can also walk through the leafy paths of Sintra town and stop at a traditional bakery for a sweet travesseiro pastry. Return to Lisbon in good time to beat the evening crowds. Your late afternoon remains entirely free to unwind at an outdoor cafe.

Day 4

Leave the coast behind and journey inland across the Alentejo plains toward Evora. Take a quiet morning walk through Evora historic center to see the ancient Roman Temple and the grand Cathedral. Enjoy an easy lunch featuring regional olive oil and crusty bread in Praca do Giraldo. You will have the late afternoon free to relax at your hotel or browse local cork craft shops.

Day 5

Take a short drive east to the hilltop village of Monsaraz, known for its whitewashed houses and sweeping views over the Alqueva reservoir. Wander through the peaceful stone lanes and take in the panoramic countryside from the medieval ramparts. Return toward Evora before the day heats up, enjoying the slower rural rhythm. Your late afternoon is open to spend however you please, perhaps sipping local wine on a shady patio.
