Sardines are one of the most important products of Portugal.
A country of Ocean and Fish. Portugal is number 3 in the world of fish-eating per person, per year (57kg/125lbs per year), consuming in June every year about 13 sardines per second.
There are several factories in Portugal, and this is one of my favorites. It is located in the North of the country, near the city of Porto.
The visits to this factory occur every day while working.
You can see the whole process of production and packaging, straight from the ocean to the consumer.
A visit to this sardine factory is included in these private tours around Porto/Northern Portugal
